A Miscellaneous Update of Ostrava Happenings

This week has been absolutely nuts trying to make and grade final tests for all the students! Now I know what my poor mother went through all those years in the basement writing reports!

In other news:

-I went to Prague last weekend and ate fajitas and watched an American football game! It was practically culture shock...Mexican food and drunk Americans in football jerseys? Almost too much to take in at one time! Oh Mexican food, how I have missed you...and how I wish you would move to Ostrava
-Vin Diesel is shooting his new movie in Poruba (an area of Ostrava). Apparently it's set in Russia, and invovles genetically engineered "Babylon babies." You really know how to pick the good ones, Vin.
-Eddie Izzard recently topped the charts of "Jessica's favorite comedians." Possibly with the line "well, we may need to invade Antarctica with sheep at some point," or maybe "What do you do? Oh, you're a plumber? Marvellous! What on earth is that?"
-We watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom at film night, and I realized for the first time how cheesy "Temple of Doom" actually sounds. In fact, the whole movie is kind of lame. Which is unfortunate since I have such fond memories of watching Indiana Jones as a kid. At least there's Sean Connery in Last Crusade, which is by far the superior film.
-I had my first "lesson" with a professional singer. Yikes.
-the band Copeland is making a resurgance on my list of favorite bands
-One of my test questions that I gave to my students read: "A refrigerator is a machine _____ cuts grass" (a. who b. that c. which). I knew I was destined to be a teacher.

Comments:
I especially like the last comment. Grammar is really important
